From 28th of October 2020, shipowners and/or vessel operators should install ballast water treatment system which is approved by IMO Resolution MEPC.279(70)- 2016 guideline or BWM Code.

Until now, there are many BWTS manufacturers in this industry but only countable makers have this certificate.

PANASIA is also one of these manufacturers and PANASIA acquired this BWTS G8 type approval certificate according to 2016 Guideline in 2019 by DNV-GL on behalf of Norway Government.

With this approval, PANASIA achieved many class type approval like a KR, RINA, CR and CRS. Also, the approval process is under-going from ABS, NK, LR, RS, BV as well as CCS.

Many operators are also requiring not only AMS approved system but also USCG type approved BWTS. PANASIA’s BWTS has two kinds of USCG type approval(48hours holding time and 24hours holding time) as well as AMS. Both systems can be operated all kinds of water without any salinity limitation.

This excellent operating parameter can be the best solution for shipowners to choose the system in their fleets.

Now COVID-19 Pandemic makes a BWTS installation extension case which is defined by USCG.

Recently USCG officially announced through MSID number 14-20 dated April 9th 2020 that the Coast Guard will extend all compliance dates up to 12 months upon request.

So if shipowner cannot comply this BWTS regulation on time, they can submit the extension application to the Coast Guard and they will grand their request.
