Tokyo & Paris MoU BWTS(BWMS) CIC Announcement

From the second half of 2025, Tokyo and Paris MoU member states will
conduct a Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) on Ballast Water
Management Systems (BWMS).
This inspection aims to verify compliance with the IMO Ballast Water
Management Convention, with a particular focus on the installation,
operation, recordkeeping, and approval status of BWTS (BWMS) on board.

Period: September 1 – November 30, 2025 (3 months)
Scope: Installation, operation, recordkeeping, and approval status of BWTS (BWMS)
Coverage: All ships calling at ports and operating in the Asia-Pacific and Europe-Atlantic MoU regions

As such, CICs are expected to become more stringent in the future,

Official Document

Depending on the inspection results, port authorities may take action ranging from corrective
instructions to vessel detention, and the results will be published on the official Tokyo and Paris
MoU websites.

· Valid International BWMC
· Approved and up-to-date BWMP
· Crew awareness of their duties
· Approved and operational BWMS
· Compliance with the BWMP
· Proper completion of the Record Book
· Management of sediments
· Fulfillment of exemption conditions, etc.

Risks of Using Non-Genuine UV Lamps

1. Reduced System Performance

PANASIA BWTS is optimized for genuine UV lamps. Using counterfeit lamps may lower system efficiency.
2. Risk of Electrical Damage

Non-genuine lamps can cause voltage instability, leading to damage of connected electrical components.
3. Potential Fire & Safety Hazards

Unauthorized lamps may trigger sudden voltage fluctuations, increasing the risk of fire and other safety incidents.
4. No Warranty Coverage

While non-genuine lamps may seem to function temporarily, PANASIA cannot guarantee quality or provide warranty coverage against long-term issues.
