[G-SHIPSTORY] “Scrubber is much more eco-friendly than LSFO”“Scrubber is much more eco-friendly than LSFO”
Dutch environmental consulting firm revealed... manufacturer of marine equipment such as Panasia is in the spotlight.

A study that scrubber produces less exhaust gas than
low-sulphur fuel oil has founded, so that manufacturers of marine equipment are paying attention this.
On the 27th, Reuters and other foreign
medias reported citing its latest data from CE Delft, Dutch environmental
consulting firm.
According to the CE Delft report, CO2 emissions of
ships which use low-sulphur fuel oil has increased significantly. On the other hand,
Scrubber is lower in CO2 emissions compared to using low-sulphur fuel oil. Accordingly, if 18,000 TEU Container ships use
low-sulphur fuel oil, the production of CO2 emissions is reach 1~25% in annual,
while scrubber’s production of CO2 emissions is only 1.5~3%.
Reuters has explained “With the enforcement of IMO
environmental regulation in January this year, the shipbuilding industries are
at a crossroad of choice whether to use low-sulphur fuel oil or to install a scrubber”
and adding “The report of CE Delft is a proof that scrubber is much more eco-friendly choice.”. Media also explained the Netherlands is one of the
most developed countries on
shipping industry in Europe especially. Thus,
Dutch company such as CE Delft is publishing data analysis on marine equipment or crude oil very
often.

Jan Othman, vice-president of Wärtsilä
Marine Systems, well-known as finish shipbuilding equipment company emphasized
“the report of CE Delft shows scrubber’s production of CO2 emissions is much
lower than using low-sulphur fuel oil” by the press release.
According to this report, manufacturers of marine
equipment such as Panasia, S&sys are expected to benefit
from scrubber. Especially, Panasia, specialized on protecting
an atmosphere and water environment is recognized for their advanced technology
worldwide.
Panasia ranked No.4 (10% share) in a global EGCS(Emission Gas
Control System) market within only 2 years after from launching scrubber, with 328.5 billion won in sales last year.
The official relevant business said “Panasia has
expanded new lines of smart factories by producing scrubber and applied
AI(Artificial Intelligence) technology” and “Panasia is leading innovation in manufacturing,
including the cutting edge of the business of shipbuilding equipment.”
