Panasia Co., Ltd. contributed 500 million won to Korea Maritime & Ocean University.
PANASIA Co., Ltd. agreed to make an annual contribution of ₩50 million for 10 years, totaling ₩500 million, to the development fund at Korea Maritime & Ocean University
Eco-friendly equipment expert PANASIA agreed to make an annual donation of ₩50 million for 10 years amounting to ₩500 million to Korea Maritime & Ocean University’s development fund for the fostering of local talent.
On the 21st, PANASIA (CEO Soo-tae Lee) and Korea Maritime & Ocean University (KMOU) (President Deok-hee Do) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for joint research and development on green energy and hosted a donation handover ceremony.
This MOU was prepared with the goal of preventing an exodus of skilled talent in the Busan area and contributing to the growth of the country and local communities by creating quality jobs through the development of green ocean technologies.
The MOU states that the two organizations agree to work together on joint R&D on green energy, R&D exchanges, exchange of R&D equipment, planning and execution of government projects, local human resources development and fostering.
CEO Soo-tae Lee said, “Through voluntary collaboration between renowned local universities and companies, we will be able to resolve imbalances in growth between the capital area and other regions.” He added, “I hope this will lay the cornerstone for more collaboration between industry and academia.”
President Deok-hee Do said, “I feel a great responsibility receiving this donation the company made with good intentions. Once again, I want to express my gratitude for taking an interest in our university despite economic hardships.”
Established in 1989, PANASIA Co., Ltd. has developed such technologies as hydrogen generators and carbon capture, utilization and storage systems. Essential to facilitating carbon neutrality, these technologies will help the company develop advanced hydrogen generation technologies for ships in collaboration with KMOU, in addition to onshore hydrogen charging stations. PANASIA has been locally and internationally recognized for its technology and business competence. For instance, the company was named among the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ 100 small giants in materials, parts, and equipment. It is headquartered in Gangseo-gu, Busan.
